About This Site

The AMV Contest and Exhibition site is an archive of the results of contests and exhibitions of anime music videos (AMV). All data is collected from publicly available sources as well as the occasional contact with a contest organizer. Accuracy is intended, but as always, is not guaranteed.

This site is not a place to download or obtain copies of AMVs. For convenience, links are provided to locations where you can read about the video and in many cases, make contact with a video's creator. Keep in mind that background information pages are not available for all videos.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Where do you get the contest results from?

This site publishes information that can be found at the individual convention Web sites, at the forums of AnimeMusicVideos.org, and on the Yahoo! AMV group mailing list. Other sources are used when deemed to be trustworthy. Accuracy is a major concern. Rumors and offhand comments are not cited although they may be the starting point for additional research.

2. Where are the results for the {insert name} Convention - Part 1?

Many organizers do not publish the results of their AMV contests, and information through other sources may not be available. A contest will not be listed unless reasonably complete data can be found. For example, a random comment that person X won at convention Y is not sufficient without some indication of other winners and entries. An exception to this would occur if it could be confirmed that convention Y awarded only that one prize and that the names of the other entries were not collected.

3. Where are the results for the {insert name} Convention - Part 2?

Several days or weeks can pass before the results of a recent contest are posted by the organizers or attendees of that convention. This site does not have special contacts or leads into any of the conventions. Information will be posted as it becomes available plus a day or so to compile and format the appropriate Web pages. If the webmaster is away or on vacation, it will take even longer.

4. Video X of contest Y is missing a link to AnimeMusicVideos.org.

No links were provided in any list for a contest prior to late 2002. These older lists will be updated as time permits. For a newer list, especially one that covers a recent contest, please contact the webmaster.

5. Please add a link to a video on my Web site.

This site will only link to pages in the AnimeMusicVideos.org database. The reason for this is the difficulty of maintaining the accuracy of links when personal sites can come and go at random. The solution is to add your video to the AnimeMusicVideos.org database. That is where you can add the link to your personal Web site.

6. Spelling errors, bad links, site problems, etc.

7. I don't want my real name used in these lists.

Contact the webmaster at the email address above. In your email, note the specific contest and a substitute name if you wish one. If you don't provide a substitute name, the space will be left blank.
